History On My Camaro SS
#1661
I purchased the car on October 12 1999 from the original owner who lived in Sommerset NJ. The car had an original 14,534 miles on the odometer. I had orignally went looking at brand-new 1999 Camaro's however their were waiting lists of 6 weeks for the options I wanted. My main concern was to have a red colored car w/o T-Tops and no leather. Low and behold I found the perfect car and it was located in NJ. So I went over to look at the car and it was in pristine condition and the owner (former LS1.com member) was a fanatic about his car and how it was cared for.
So he was asking somewhere in the range of $24,000.00 and I won the car for $22,000.00. He used synthetic oil throughout the life span of the car including when he drove it off the showroom (He did not want Castrol Synthetic Oil Option Because He Heard It Would Crystalize Under High Heat So He Used All Mobil One???????) I kept with the tradition and use Mobil Synthtic Oil with Napa Gold Oil Filters.
Modifications
The car has no Modification with the exception of a K & N Air Filter and I have a an Air Box which came with the car but I do not use it.
Warrenty Information
The car has been in
three times under the warrenty. Their is still an EXTENDED WARRENTY (10
months ) on this car with a 0 Deductible When I first bought the car the
owner had brought the car in to replace the Mass Airflow Box which was done
on (9/19/99).
Service
I have changed the oil on the car at least 5 times with Mobil One Synthetic Oil. The rear-end and transmission have not been changed since September 1999 (Does not need changing). I have also recently changed all four tires on the car (August 2002) and had a 4 wheel alignment done to the car (August 2002). Everthing else on the car is original. About 98% of the time the car has used Sunoco Ultra 94 unless it was an emergency. The owner also used Sunoco Ultra 94 since new (We have both had the privlidge of living with a few blocks range of a Sunoco).
Updated 1/6/2003: Over the fall I placed new tires, crossed drilled front rotors, rabestos brake pads, NYS Inspection (PASSED) and a four wheel alignment by Chevrolet on the car. Also I saved the rotors and brake pads to show the condition of the brakes which can determine the driving history of the car very well. As you probably know the reason for changing the rotors was because of the poor quality in the manufactuering of the factory rotors. So when I changed them I just also changed the pads. My old pads have over 70% of the pad left!!!!
Exterior/Interior Care
Throughout the three years of owning the car I have used Zaino products to maintain the exterior care of the car. I wax the car on a bi monthly basis. I never used any compounds on the car only cleaners. I also pressure wash the engine and underchasis every four months (see for you self in the pictures below). The car spent most of it time in a heated garage and when it was not in the garage I kept the car under a Evolution 4 Car Cover. The car does not have any dings or dents.
How Was The Car Driven?
Well actually the first two years I did not drive the car often, because between work and graduate school in Manhattan , I have been a big supporter of Mass Transportation (Please see the car fax below). When driven I did take very good care of the car. The car has been to the track three times and out of the 8 passes 13.3 quarter mile at a 107.1mph (This is stock on a cold day 50 degress 12/06/1999). I have taken the car on a few long trips ((2)Seaside Heights NJ, (3)Red Hook NY, (2)Atlantic City NJ).
The car currently has 29,634 Original Miles.
