Saturday, June 2.  Registration for the 7th Sentimental Tour begins in the late afternoon at the Holiday Inn, Staunton, Virginia. Come early because there is so much to do and see in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.  Optional early-bird tours include Skyline Drive , Luray Caverns and Antique Car Museum, Montpelier, home of President James Madison, and Eavers Classic Cars & Collectibles Museum.

 

Sunday, June 3.  Registration and the Hospitality Room will open in the morning at the Holiday Inn, Staunton, Virginia.  Admission to the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum will be included in the registration fee as a pre-tour.  Directions for other self-guided pre-tours will be included in your Tour Guide.  An informal dinner, including some musical entertainment, at the Holiday Inn will kick off the 2012 Sentimental Tour.

 

 Monday, June 4.
   ●   Buffet breakfast and Drivers’ Meeting at Holiday Inn
   ●   Walton’s Mountain Museum –optional stop
   ●   President James Monroe’s home, Ash Lawn-Highland
   ●   Lunch in historic Michie Tavern, an 18th century inn
   ●   Monticello, home of President Thomas Jefferson
   ●   Evening free

 

 

 
Tuesday, June 5.
       ●   Buffet breakfast and Drivers’ Meeting
       ●   Blue Ridge Parkway, known as America’s Favorite Drive
       ●   Lunch at Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista
       ●   * Natural Bridge, a National Historic Landmark towering 20 stories high
       ●   Evening free
 
        * This is a venue change.

 

Wednesday, June 6.
●   Buffet breakfast and Drivers’ Meeting.  Coffee stop featuring delicious homemade donuts.
●   Chester & Nancy Bradfield’s antique car collection
  W.W. Motor Cars & Parts
   Lunch at The Yellow Barn at Shenandoah Caverns.
  American Celebration on Parade at Shenandoah Caverns.  Enjoy stunning parade floats
    from presidential inaugurals and Rose Bowl and Thanksgiving Parades.
●  The Civil War Museum of Virginia, at the New Market Battlefield State Historical Park.
●  Evening free

 

 
 
Thursday, June 7.
    ●   Buffet breakfast and Drivers’ Meeting
    ●   Goshen Pass, a magnificent mountain gorge three miles long formed by the Maury River. 
        The gorgeous rhododendrons should be blooming.
    ●   Lunch on the campus of Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia
    ●  Choice of Virginia Military Institute Museum, George C. Marshall Museum, and Lee Chapel and
       Museum
    ●  Evening free
Friday, June 8.
       Buffet breakfast and Drivers' Meeting
       Frontier Culture Museum, a living history museum illustrating the daily lives of the Shenandoah Valley's early
         settlers
       Lunch on your own in historic downtown Staunton featuring over 100 unique shops, art galleries, and restaurants.
 
    A highlight of the tour will be a visit to the Blackfriars Playhouse
     - the world's only re-creation of Shakespeare's original indoor theater
     in Stratford-upon-Avon.  This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
     for many.  We will see a matinee performance of "A Mid-Summer
     Night's Dream", Shakespeare's mischievous comedy of lovers, heroes
     and fairies.

      Closing dinner at the Holiday Inn with some awards will conclude the AACA's 7th Sentimental Tour.

          Breakfast buffet followed by Drivers’ Meeting at Holiday Inn for guests at all hotels and campground.
