Summer Tour to Donaldsonville, GA.

It all started with breakfast at Hardees on north US 27, on a beautiful sunshiny day. It was a great tour that lasted for most of the day, only punctuated by small fits and starts of confusion as to who was leading and where were they going? All in all, everybody had great fun, even those who had to refill radiators or try to play catch-up with those speedy leaders. Leaving our breakfast stop, the caravan of 13 old cars and one “modern”, took to the two-lane blacktops through Havana (where one more joined in) and north Florida then into southern Georgia, wending our way towards Donaldsonville. We passed several “yards of junk” and even a short “detour” to see a one room schoolhouse(?). Well, that’s what we were told! Our first stop to regroup and relax was at the Georgia Welcome Center at US 84 and 27. It is a very nice facility and the state of Georgia is to be commended for making us feel welcome!
