Cruise to Monticello

     Fall in Tallahassee is a great time of the year, especially when you want to get together with a few friends and tour in the old cars! Well, the club did just that last Saturday. Just a hint in the air of cooler weather but still the tops came down on some of the cars.

    25 vehicles showed up at Devoe’s Antique Car Museum parking lot to start off for Monticello, FL and a visit with TRAACA members Craig and Belle McCollum.

    A short drive up the road and ….coffee stop! A brief time later we were on our way for a leisurely drive up US 90 to just south of Monticello. Two minor incidents marred a perfect day. One Model A had a problem starting and had to be pushed off, so he decided discretion was the better part, etc. and turned for home. The other incident involved a Model A running out of gas!

     Our next stop was the country estate of the McCollums.

       Our hosts really know how to put on the ol’ feedbag. We were treated to some scrumptious eats along with good old southern hospitality at its finest.

     A tour of the McCollum car collection and aviary exhibit soon followed.
