June

Twenty-five persons met at the Sun Federal Bank on West Tennessee Street for the June 1978 Tallahassee Region A.A.C.A. monthly meeting. Co-hosts were Richard & Joan Boutin and C.K. & Carolyn Pope. The Indian Mounds State Park get-together turned out to be a nice one for those who attended. Only four couples showed. It was hot, but the lunch was good. The Club had two winners from the Daytona Beach Car Show: Ray & Gladys Bauer won a First Place for their 1928 Plymouth, and Randall & Jo Kendrick won a Third Place for their 1921 Model T Ford Coupe. Fred & Bill Tyler reported a good Flea Market crowd attended. The Monticello Watermelon Festival will be June 24th. Those who can go from the club are to meet at Sambo's on 27 South at 8:30 a.m., Saturday for breakfast. We'll motor to Monticello in a caravan. Let's have a good turnout! You're invited!

Respectfully submitted,

Gladys Bauer, Secretary

What were you doing Saturday June 18th, 1988? Were you somewhere in Cairo? Were you in the company of the most gregarious people on earth? Were you par-taking of the freshest mullet, the wide assortment of covered dishes and the most delectable desserts? Did you top it all off with ice-cold watermelon? If so, you must have been one of the 51 members and 3 guests of the Tallahassee Region AACA that met that day for the June meeting. And again, we must thank our host & hostess, Wayne and Rosa Ann Hadden. Their farm certainly lends itself to a fish fry!! The Hadden's repeatedly give us all a lesson on the right way to have a party/meeting. Thanks, you two! You are certainly tops!! Now, just where is the bill for the fish? Also, special thanks to George Campbell who supplied the most delicious corn on the cob. (The best I ever ate and believe me, I'm an expert!!) George came along with tomatoes for everyone, too. Thanks, George! The meeting was short and sweet. Our special guest, Bill Bumfield from Monticello (the one who supplied the melon) asked our members to help with the Watermelon Festival Parade June 25th. The Prez encouraged everyone to go.

See you!

Carol Rainey

The June 18th, 1998 meeting came to order at 7:30 p.m. at the regular meeting place: FHBC. The May newsletter was accepted as written. A special mention was given concerning a recent Antique Automobile publication listing the national awards received by Wayne & Rosa Ann on the Founders Tour, and also an award received by the Tallahassee Chassee. For those of you unable to go on the outing to the Hollingsworth's have missed something special! The collections of Nell and Bobby are very impressive with the walls of both house, garage and the adjacent garage/carport combo, covered with auto collectibles, Coca-Cola items, Gulf Oil memorabilia, and a "few" Ford dealer plates. The club wishes to thank the Hollingsworth's for their hospitality in providing refreshments and goodies during our visit, as well as the cool comfort of their beautiful home when the heat "just got to us". The Hollingsworths would like to extend an invitation to the club to visit again during the Christmas Holidays.
