1971 Plymouth Roadrunner
I am selling my 1971 383, 4-spd. console pistol grip, EV2/black interior 'Runner (RM23N1E100056). I have spent nearly 6 years restoring her with mostly NOS parts and refurbishing the original parts. The car is documented as a PRE-VOL, or "pilot car," by G.G., and he sent me some interesting info indicating this was likely the first 383, 4-spd, 'Runner out of the LA plant. The three fender tags are there, listing the many rare options (including Strato Vent, Tuff wheel, rear defogger, 6-way manual seat)on the first 2 tags, and the third tag denotes PRE-VOLUME #99. I should also mention that the car is 1 of 96 Runners coded for rear backlight louvers (J68), and these are factory, not repro. Govier indicated that these cars were typically hand built off the assembly line prior to the first day of production, which for 1971 year was 8/2/70. The NOM 383 is a nice 10.5:1, and the A-833 shifts smoothly. I found the current motor on the internet several years back and couldn't believe my luck in finding a G series, 1971 block with SBD in July 1970! The original 3.23 "open legger" rear end is out and stored, while the 3.91 Sure Grip in it now sure wakes up that 383.
I am asking $31,500 for the car. Please contact me directly via e-mail: dafalbs@comcast.net or cell: (850) 556-2192. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please contact me if you are interested and need more details....Marty in Tallahassee, FL
