My Fellow Club Members,

With the successful Homestead Show now behind us, we have concluded a very active year of showing our beautiful pieces of art work on wheels. With the success of Memory Lane, Harvest Fest, Coral Gables, Art Deco, Downtown Miami, and Homestead, it is most apparent that our hobby is alive and well. A special thanks to our sponsors for their financial support, our chairmen, co-chairmen and our many volunteers, who helped ensure each show’s success. I send a heartfelt “well done” to you all, for without your help our club would not be the premier organization that it is today. I believe that each year we will continue to have the wonderful and successful shows that we have had in the past. This is all due to you our club members, and many others who have contributed to the love of our wonderful hobby.

Most recently our club was recognized by the Dade Heritage Trust, for its contributions to the maintenance of the history of Miami and Dade County. We have accomplished this with our automobiles which act as milestones for the history of our community. By restoring and preserving our antique autos, we can show the public a small part of that historical heritage that was old Miami. This very prestigious award is bestowed upon us by a most respected community organization, in recognition of our efforts in giving back to the
community. All of you can be proud as a club member to have received this award. Next month we will be giving back to the community again in the form of a scholarship to the outstanding student at the Robert Morgan School for Automotive Maintenance and Repair. I hope you will join me in June, when that student will be present at our club meeting to receive his scholarship check.

It’s hard to believe that we are approaching the half way mark for 2008. There are some exciting things on the horizon. One of which may be our club
hosting a national show in the year 2010. But on another note, don’t forget our annual picnic at Matheson Hammock in July, our Progressive Dinner and our Holiday Party, both later in the year.

I am looking forward to seeing you at our next club meeting.
