AACA YOUNG PEOPLE'S AWARD

Reminder to all Region and Chapter Presidents and Officers

J. Stanley Stratton
Chairman. AACA Young People's Award

Nominations for the 1998 AACA Young People's Award will be due by November 15, 1997. Please review your membership for young people qualified to participate in this award. Consider nominating a young person who has been active in your Region/Chapter Activities, who has restored a car of his or her own, or who has assisted parents or grandparents in showing or restoring a vehicle. Also consider a young person with an interest in literature, antique automotive toys, tools or petroliana.

The Young People's Award consists of a $500.00 cash award to be given to a high school senior who is an active AACA member or child of an active AACA member for at least five years, who has been accepted into an accredited institution of higher education (college or vocational program leading to a diploma). For the 1998 award, the individual will have been in the high school graduating class of 1997. The award will be presented at the 1998 AACA Annual Meeting.

Please note that this award is made only by the nomination of a Region or Chapter Board of Directors. Thus, the responsibility falls directly on them to support this worthy award. We all know that there are young people in our Regions and Chapters who are very essential for their success. Let's be sure to recognize these efforts.

If you have any questions, please write to AACA National Headquarters or to J. Stanley Stratton, Chairman, AACA Young People's Award.
