Presidents Message

October 2009

HI…y’all!  I want to tell you that Betty and I just got back from the Louisville, KY Concours d’Elegance at Churchill Downs.  It was a very historic setting with fabulous and very rare cars.   Louisville, KY will also be the location for the AACA 75th Anniversary  celebration.  This is going to be a great celebration and the Kentucky area is worth seeing.  The AACA celebration will have a 600 car indoor show.   So…y’all should plan to go south to Kentucky June 30 to July 3, 2010.

Well…the Hershey Fall Meet is over.  I think I walked 100 miles!  Saw several of our region members, and everyone seemed to be having a good time.  The car corral was overwhelming with almost every type of car for sale. If you were shopping for a car, you should have been able to find it there.

At the October 14th club meeting we had an identification contest for old movie stars and early antique cars.  The antique cars were the toughest to identify.  Lots of fun…thanks to Roland Spaar for coordinating the meeting location and activity.

The next activity scheduled for October is a tour of Don Neilson’s collection, and lunch at the “99” restaurant.   This is a Chester County Car Club and the Active “A’s” Club activity and we are invited to participate.  We’ll meet at Bob Evans in Oaks at 9:15 am, and then drive three blocks to Don Neilson’s collection.

The November club meeting will be at Pizza Como & Pub in Pennsburg.   Roland Spaar and Tom Smith will present a special program.  Also, November is club election night. Come out to vote in your favorite candidates!

The November club breakfast will be at Macoby Run.  See the Events Calendar for directions.

Also, don’t forget the annual Christmas Party on December 6th at the Brookside Country Club.  The flyer is in this newsletter.  Reservations are due by November 1st.  This is a nice event…lovely location, great food, and fun and gifts for all.  The dinner will be a buffet with yummy choices….including a sundae bar with cookies and fruit for dessert.   Don’t miss out on the fun…mail your reservation or call Betty now!

See you down the road…..

Bob
