Special Bulletin
August 14, 2006
Northern Neck Region, AACA
From the Editor!
This
will be cut and dried, folks. We have many activities coming up quickly within
our region. The Richmond County Fair, which is a real bread winner for us, has
required us to move our next monthly meeting up to Thursday
August 17, 2006, that’s THIS
WEEK! 8:00 pm as usual. Please
attend. We have many important matters to attend to, including our respective
duties at the Fairgrounds (signup sheets are still very empty), and preparations
for upcoming activities right around the corner. I’m including everything in
this bulletin I can think of to keep
our members current in our activities. I promise a better newsletter next month.
A Message from Jack Ashburn
We need will 15 cars for the Reedville Fishermen's Museum Boat Show on
Sept. 9. A box lunch will be provided for each person. We will park in
private driveways, not on the street. Those who want to attend, please call Jack
Ashburn at 435-6171. This is a new event for our club to
enjoy, and the town of Reedville is pulling out all of the stops for our
members.
Richmond County Fair
Paul
Stosch needs parkers and antique cars for
the Richmond County Fair. Our Region has the parking responsibility for Friday, August 25,
2006. We also need antique cars for display each night of the
fair again this year. That would be on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
nights. Paul also said he needs helpers to put up the “car corral” on
Tuesday night and to help take them down the last night of the fair. We still
have a need for more parkers and helpers for the Friday night. Please call Paul at 333-1955 about the assignments, and
also come to the next meeting on August 17, 2006 to sign up.
Annual Northern Neck Region
Picnic on Sept 23, 2006
At
our last meeting, Nick Nickoson and Patsy Self has agreed to let us have our
picnic at Nick’s place on the river in Harryhogan, Virginia (near Callao). I
warned Nick that we were a rowdy bunch, but he said the river was very close to
his yard! Heh! Heh! Any any rate, we do appreciate their generosity. We will
have tents up in case of inclement weather.
Please bring a cover dish, unless you’re on a serious
diet! Our region will have burgers and hot dogs available and also soft drinks.
Also, don’t forget your lawn chairs, this is a picnic, you know!
I’ll have directions next month. Please plan now to attend.
Northern Neck Region Annual
Car Show
Our
annual car show is getting very close. We need to have each member to help get sponsors for our show trophies. We also need
donations from area merchants for door
prizes and other freebees given out at out show.
We have a committee (Peyton, are you a committee?) working on getting us
some traffic cones and tables for our annual show from the local Lowes Store. We
hope to get a donation of some of these items from the Lowes Store. We can then
keep them in our storage trailer every year. Other show information will be
posted in the next newsletter.
