From the March 2004 issue:
AACA WINTER NATIONAL @ MELBOURNE, FLORIDA:
Not a drop of rain and a sensuous warm light breezy day greeted a strong turnout of cars and sightseer’s near the Atlantic coast for this annual AACA event. Nicely situated, next to the Hilton Hotel in Melbourne, this event pulled in a continuous stream of visitors to look over the 250 or so old cars plus numerous vendors.
There was a good selection with a row of old brass cars, a few classics, motor scooters, and up through the newest old cars dating ‘all the way back’ to the 1970's.
The editor ran into Earl Beauchamp, the new AACA National President. Earl, who makes Sebring his home part of the year (Virginia the rest), expressed concern over the show for next year. Another Region backed out of it’s tentative commitment for 2005 and other Region’s haven’t been stepping up. The Winter National in Florida is a long running tradition and is the only place that makes much sense for a March show. Later, Jim Schmidt and Earl conferred on the status of things. Jim displayed his 60 Pontiac, Mike Kearney his 36 Pontiac and Jose Vega his 52 Chevy.
