DVD-VCR on board. We have a couple of videos to show. If anyone has an interesting one to share with the group, bring it. We will depart 7:30 am Saturday morning. Participants are urged to have breakfast prior to boarding bus. We hope to have donuts to serve along the way. Or there is possibly a short stop at McDonalds in Peru, IL. we hope to arrive at the LaPorte museum by 11:00am. There are 40 cars; in addition, their museum has other attraction as furniture, glass-ware and other historic items to view.
So it not all cars, plan an hour and a half at the museum. Then lunch. We must decide whether we wish to sit down at a nice place in LaPorte for fast food and then on to Shipshewana, IN arrival there between 2:30 and 3:00pm. Two hours there as they close at 5pm.we can have a buffet or catered meal at their facility. Prices range from $10.95 which includes tax and gratuity on up to $50.00 plus dollars. Check in at the Super 8 Motel in Fremont, IN which is right on I-80 north of Auburn. Motel has an indoor heated swimming pool and continental breakfast. Board bus at 9:00am and on to Auburn, Indiana. There are-3- museums there of which the most important is the Auburn/Cord/Duesenberg Museum and National Automotive and Truck Museum where the Future liner is from. The Kruse museum is for those so interested. Lunch will be on your own where-ever you happen to choose.
Board bus around 3pm for return home. We may stop for dinner on the way home. It would be around a 4-41/2 hour ride home without a stop. We will see what the group wants to do. There are a couple of places on the way home if people are interested.
Cost for bus in $50.00 per person. Room cost at the motel is $68.96 w/tax $75.92. pay individually at the motel.
