INCORPORATED

THE CLUB

The Antique Automobile Club of America is the country’s

oldest and largest automotive historical society. A

Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation, it is dedicated to the

preservation, restoration and maintenance of automobiles

and automotive history. Founded in Philadelphia in 1935,

its membership has grown to over 60,000 members from

all parts of the world. The AACA holds country-wide

competitive and noncompetitive meets and events. These

are on a divisional basis offering a program within the

reach of everyone. Tours and activities relating to the

hobby are sponsored, including the AAA Revival Glidden

Tour®, Founders Tour, Nickel Tour, Reliability Tour,

Sentimental Tour and Divisional Tours. The annual

meeting features seminars, trade show and a year end

culminating awards banquet.

The AACA is proud of its relationship with the many

historical organizations devoted to similar objectives the

world over. The Club, through its national office, publications,

and membership, aids individuals, museums,

libraries, historians and collectors dedicated to the

preservation of automotive history.

AACA members own many thousands of historic automobiles,

rare collections of literature, books, films, pictures

and other material significant to automotive history.

VEHICLES

Motor vehicles of all types, 25 years old and older are

grouped for competitive purposes into many classes

according to age and mechanical features. AACA has a

comprehensive judging system that allows members to

earn significant awards for their vehicles. AACA also

recognizes original cars, Historic Preservation of Original

Features (HPOF) and unmodified 25 year and older

vehicles that are driven, Drivers Participation (DPC) and

have not obtained a First Junior award within our judging

system. The club recognizes classes of motorcycles and

documented race cars as well. Further details can be

found in our judging manual which is available online at

www.aaca.org. Further details are available by

contacting the AACA Vice President-Class Judging.

THE MAGAZINE

AACA’s official publication ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE is the

country’s foremost automotive historical magazine. Amply

illustrated, it is distributed bi-monthly to all members. It contains

many fine historical articles, tour accounts, technical

articles on restoration and other material. In addition, it carries

brief items on Club news, meets and classified advertising.

Advertisers may obtain a rate card from Antique

Automobile Club of America, National Headquarters, 501

W. Governor Road, P.O. Box 417, Hershey, PA 17033.

REGIONS AND CHAPTERS

There are approximately 400 hundred regions and chapters

chartered by the Antique Automobile Club of America

in the United States and Canada. Regions and their chapters

are administered in an autonomous manner holding

their own meetings, collecting local dues and conducting

runs, meets and other events under the direction of their

respective elected officers. Membership in the national

Antique Automobile Club of America is a prerequisite to

joining a region or chapter.

The names and addresses of region and chapter officers

are listed in the ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE magazine or on

www.aaca.org. Fifteen or more members may petition the

national board of directors for the chartering of a region.

AACA LIBRARY & RESEARCH CENTER

ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF AMERICA

MISSISSIPPI VALLEY REGION

Dear Prospective member:

The Mississippi Valley Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America is a non-profit organization that has a history in the Quad Cities that spans over 40 years. It was founded in the late 1950’s by a group of antique car enthusiasts to:

1.      Promote interest and preservation of Antique Automobiles.

2.      Promote events and social gatherings for old car buffs.

3.      To learn more about the Antique Automobiles and to share this knowledge with others.

4.      To have fun.

One of the ways our goals are accomplished is through an affiliation with the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA), the oldest and largest Antique Automobile Club in the world with over 60,000 members throughout the world. The AACA provides us with a quality bi-monthly magazine, ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE, with information about upcoming events, articles on cars both old and new(special interest) and tips on auto restoration and preservation. It has a research library available to club members and promotes the display and enjoyment of our cars. There are National Shows and Tours throughout the country that afford the opportunity to meet other car enthusiasts.

Another way we accomplish our club goals is through our own club functions. The MVR conducts monthly meetings during the winter and early spring months and has member old car events May through October. Our Annual Dinner Meeting is in November on the Friday before Thanksgiving. Our Board meetings are usually the first Wednesday of the month and any member is welcome. In addition, a monthly newsletter, THE AUTOGRAF, is published to provide our members with information about our club, old cars, activities of our region and national events and news.

Membership in the MVR does not require ownership of an old car, just an interest in the Antique Cars. There is an additional requirement because of our affiliation with the AACA.  Membership in the national organization of AACA is required. They carry liability insurance to cover the activities of our local region. This protects the membership for any litigation brought against it. However, all members are responsible for carrying their own auto insurance.

Included in this packet is some additional information on the AACA, membership applications for both organizations, a copy of THE AUTOGRAF, our club newsletter, and a copy of ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE, the AACA Bi-monthly magazine. Our club dues are $18 per couple or $14 per single membership. AACA national dues are $30 for couples or single.

The Mississippi Valley Region would like to invite you to any of our meetings or events. For additional information on our meetings contact – Membership Chairman, Don Mitchell: Phone 309 523-2888.

To become a member(s), mail your “APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP” (Both MVR and AACA) to:
