from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Friday Early Bird Tour: All right
you Gear Heads! This is for you. The first afternoon tour is at the home of
that famous drag racing duo, the Teuton Brothers, Jeff and Joe. We’ll see their shop, hear some stories
(maybe a few lies) and then on to the Dynomometer Shop to see the setup and
running of a race engine. Ladies, our
wives made sure you aren’t left out - the Daiquiri shop is next door and the
Southland Mall is nearby! Then, off to
a tour and visit to the $15 Million Dollar Terrebonne Parish Library. This place is a must see facility in our
Parish. We will also have a surprise or
two for your entertainment.
Friday Night Hospitality: The Quality Hotel will be our host for the
Friday evening activities starting at 6:00 PM with the opening of the cash
bar. The Dinner Buffet will include
Roast Beef with mushroom gravy, Fried Fish with lemon and tartar, and all the
fixin’s. Just dress casual. The Band will play good dancing music and
some of those good “belly rubbing” tunes.
Come pass a good time, you!!
Saturday Morning: A very nice hot and filling Breakfast Buffet
starting at 6:00 AM in the breakfast area near the pool.
Saturday Tour:
Explore historic St. Mary Parish with us. We have a nice, easy-to-drive, back roads tour planned for
you. We start with the newly finished
community complex in East St. Mary.
We’ll first visit the Wedell-Williams Memorial Aviation Museum in
Patterson. The Wedell-Williams Aviation
Collection focuses on the legacy of Louisiana aviation pioneers Jimmie Wedell
and Harry Williams who formed an air service in Patterson in 1928. Both men
became nationally prominent during what was known as the Golden Age of
Aviation. Their company became one of the best-known manufacturers of racing
planes during the 1920s and 1930s.
Although both Wedell and Williams perished in plane crashes, their
legacy lives on in the memorabilia and planes on display. Then follow the group next door to the
Patterson Cypress Sawmill Collection that documents the history of the cypress
lumber industry in Louisiana. Lumbering became the state's first significant
manufacturing industry. As a result, cypress lumber harvested and milled in
Louisiana was shipped in mass quantities across the United States.
Lunch is served “down the street”
at the Atchafalaya Golf Course at Idlewild, voted #1 place to play in Louisiana
for 2008 by Golfweek! We’ll dine “on
the veranda” enjoying a delicious meal in a beautiful setting (check out the
sweet potato fries!!!).
After lunch, we’ll stop in Morgan
City to tour the Swamp Gardens and Wildlife Zoo. This heritage park displays and interprets the Cajun culture,
from early beginnings with the Chitimacha Indians to the present. The zoo includes penned alligators, nutria,
black bears and more. Returning to
Houma, you’ll have some time to “wine” down before the evening’s
activities. There is more planned for
Saturday either going to Morgan City or on the way back but, let’s just call in
some Lagniappe!!
Saturday Banquet: The Cash
Bar opens at 6:00 PM in the Banquet Room of the Quality Hotel. The dinner begins at 7:00 PM. Entertainment and awards ceremony will
follow. Don’t forget to select your
entrée below.
Sunday Morning: Have a very nice, hot and filling Breakfast
Buffet starting at 6:00 AM at poolside before departing.
Please detach Registration Form and mail by it
