Ed Ferber's 1927 Chevrolet

This car is a 1927 Chevrolet Capitol Series Phaeton. I purchased this car from a gentleman in Texas in 2002 from an ad in the VMCCA magazine. I bought and paid for the car sight unseen, from pictures only.  Paul Crowley, another friend, Larry Klice, and I took the motor home for a marathon drive in June 2002. We started on Monday morning and drove to Kansas to pick up brother George's new car hauling trailer. We went south to Texas and picked up the 1927 Chevy (103° when we loaded the car).  We then headed home stopping to pick up some antique stove parts for George along the way and arrived home the following Thursday.

I haven't driven the car much because it only has 2 wheel brakes that need some work, and I haven't had time to fix them. I plan to have the car restored to show and drive it in the future.

The picture of Jean and I with the car was taken the Sunday after our LER Installation Banquet wearing the outfits we wore to the banquet. I just thought a '20's car and '20's outfits would make a good picture.
