that includes a meal. This event has a maximum number of
attendees, so be sure to sign up early.
Tour of Grand Island
Hosts: Dennis & Del Upton
The LER September event will be making a run to discover what
Grand Island is all about. Seeing as the ferry no longer runs,
you will need to use a bridge, and a toll will be incurred. If
you haven't traveled on Grand Island in awhile (and never
watch the news) you will learn that there are no longer any
toll booths. The following information should be helpful for
you when using the toll-less system that is in place.
First, if you have an E-Z pass, bring the transponder with you
and put it on the dash while going under the
"readers" that are encountered as you come off the
bridge onto Grand Island. If you have E-Z pass, you should
check to see if the license plate for your classic car is
listed on your account. You can list up to 6 plates per
account. If not, the transponder should still work. However,
if it doesn't, your plate will be scanned and you will receive
a bill in the mail in 4-6 weeks. Second, if you don't have an
E-Z pass, drive right through the scanning area and the
"readers" will read you plate. You will receive a
bill in 4-6 weeks. Finally, if you receive a bill in the mail,
PAY IT IN A TIMELY FASHION. The fines for unpaid toll costs
accumulate quickly. Any questions, contact Dennis Upton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
