Club Activities

2017 and 2018 Schedule of Events

The Lake Erie Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America meets monthly, usually on the second Sunday of the month.  
All members are welcome and encouraged to participate in these activities. 
 Details are available through the monthly Sidelight newsletter and this website.  
Individuals interested in joining in the activities or hosting activities should contact any board member or the host of the event.

September 9 & 10 Overnighter

Tour: Includes Bemis Point & Lake Chautauqua areas Highlights include the 
  - historic village of Bemus Point on Chautauqua Lake, 
  - the antique boat museum (Western New York boat building history), 
  - stay at historic 1890'a Lenhart Hotel over looking the lake, 
  - tour of historic Midway park with operating Allen-Hershel rides, and dinner in the historic ballroom of the Bemus Casino.  
The casino was visited by most of the major bands in the 30's, 40's and 50's!
Come join us for another fun filled Western New York history tour highlighting the hidden treasures of Bemus Point on Chautauqua Lake. We will meet at 9:30 am at the Walmart Plaza on Southwestern lvd (Rt. 20), Hamburg, 14075. The hotel accommodations are included along with Saturday night's dinner and all tour fees.
Reservations MUST be made by August 11.  Checks should be made payable to Lake Erie Region AACA and mailed to Chuck Facklam, 2748 West Blood Road, East Aurora, NY 14052
Cost: $160 per couple / $130 single occupancy. This includes the hotel and all fees.
October 15 Fall Foliage

Tour: Meet at Tops in Alden, 12775 Broadway, Alden, NY 14004 at 9:15 am with departure at 9:45 am.
First stop will be at the famous Holloway House restaurant in East Bloomfield for a champagne buffet. This historic swelling was built in 1808 by Peter Holloway, the village blacksmith, to be operated as a tavern. Come and see the hand-hewn beams with square nails, old fireplace constructed of hand made brick and oven with it's wrought iron crane over the fire, in authentic surroundings while enjoying a delicious meal.
The menu includes French toast, bacon, sausage, vegetable quiche, chicken & biscuits, macaroni & cheese, mont jack white fish, shrimp Newburg, carved turkey and ham, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, 3 pastas, shrimp salad, potato salad, hot dessert, lots of small tarts, chocolate mouse and coffee & juice.
After lunch, the tour will continue down history land to the Granger Homestead & Carriage Museum in Canandaigua, NY. This includes a view of the home of Gideon Granger, the country's longest serving postmaster General. This federal style house is filled with hand carved woodwork and many of the family's original furnishings, including four-poster beds, 1822 Clementi piano (where is Ray, our resident piano man?), and antique writing desks. The Carriage Museum is WNY's largest collection of horse drawn vehicles. Three barns filled with many styles of early drawn vehicles. Also included is the Hubbell Law Office, a two-room building constructed in 1822 that is one of four law offices that were known to exist in Canandaigua.

A night at the movies will include a documentary planned about the first cross-country road trip. The meeting will start earlier than normal and may include pizza.
