Cruise Control

Cruise Control was invented by Ralph Teeter, who was blind since the age of 5. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He eventually became a mechanical engineer for the Light Inspection Car Company (later renamed the Perfect Circle Company) which his family founded. In 1945, Teetor received his 1st patent for a cruise control device after taking a ride with his lawyer who speed would fluctuate while driving. Cruise Control was 1st offered in the 1958 on the Chrysler Imperial, New Yorker and Windsor car models. By 1960, cruise control was offered on all Cadillacs.
