AACA Museum - Keep Up To Speed

September 17,  2009

What's New this Fall at the AACA Museum?

It's been a busy summer here at the Museum as the Sports Car in America Exhibit and the Fast from the Past: Competition Motorcycles from Yesteryear exhibits have been enjoyed by tens of thousands of visitors! Haven't seen these exhibits yet? There's still time and fall is an ideal time to visit Hershey.

1920s Scene in ProgressThe Museum is also happy to announce that we are in the process of enhancing our 1920's scene. This area will be adorned with hand painted panoramic views of downtown Hershey in the 1920's. These paintings will take you back to a simpler time, where you can almost hear the sounds of the early city. This artwork was commissioned by the Museum with artist Dave Naydock, a resident of Pottsville, PA. The area will be available for viewing in early October.

We've also got several spectacular vehicles that will be in display at the Museum this fall :

Chevelle LS61970 Chevelle LS-6 from Wisconsin Muscle Car Find Has a New home at the AACA Museum

This specific vehicle was part of the "muscle car find" in Wisconsin in 2006. This vehicle was found by following up on a long-rumored collection of muscle cars and Corvettes, as well as literally tons of parts, stored in semi trailers by a quient man in his hometown.  More>>

Original and unrestored, this car is one of 159 seven-passenger Touring Limiteds built for 1911 and is believed to be the only completely unrestored and original example known to exist. There have been four owners since the car was new with the most recent owner, Mr. Jack Rich of Pennsylvania, acquiring the vehicle as part of the Helen Swigart collection auction conducted by RM Auctions in Hershey in 2007 for $1.65 million.  More>>

The 1953 Cadillac LeMans is #3 of only four originally built by General Motors as Dream Cars in 1953. Only two of the four original vehicles are know to still exist. GM FuturlinerGM Futurliner #10
October 11 - Spring 2010

In 1940, General Motors built twelve Futurliners to transport its Parade of Progress Show, a traveling technology fair that featured animated exhibits and live demonstrations showcasing General Motors automotive and technological innovations. It has an interior staircase, a driver's seat perched ten feet above the highway, and a streamlined body that makes it look more like a locomotive than a bus or truck.  More>>
