SILVER SPRINGS OFFICERS

In late 1971 our group held some informal meetings which led to our Charter with the AACA on

February 10, 1972. One of the first activities organized by this new Chapter was what became

our Annual Auto Show on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. The first two years it was a

judged Show. Then we changed to a non-judged Show giving each car that came to the Show

a Commemorative Plate and Plaque. The Show has grown over the years and now we offer the

Plate to only the first 300 cars. We had a Curved Dash Olds on our first Plate and have featured

a variety of cars since then.

We enjoy being a Chapter of the Illinois Region and stay very active for a club with fewer than

twenty members. Other Club functions include our Spring Dust-Off Car Tour, our Annual Picnic,

Bowling Party and our Annual Holiday Dinner. Chapter Meetings are held every third

Wednesday of the month at members' homes. Activities and meetings are generally in the

Sandwich, Illinois area.
