Volo
Display Raises Concern
A roadside display at Volo Village Road and Route 120 near Volo,
Ill., is dropping the jaws of car-savvy travelers.
The folks at the Volo Auto Museum have placed a cherry red, 1957
Chevrolet Bel Air convertible with lustrous chrome at its corner
pedestal sign. The intention was to grab attention, and attention it is
grabbing.

Wally
Parks was the Driving Fource Behind NHRA
The name Wally Parks is synonymous with drag racing, and there
is little question that his vision and direction will guide the sport
for many years to come. He was a man that lived a lot of life in his 94
years on this earth, traveling a road from teenage hot rodder to
record-breaking driver and unstoppable and unflappable champion of the
sport of hot rodding.
It was Parks' vision, goals and unconditional commitment to the need for
speed and side-by-side racing in a safer, more controlled environment
that created what is today the world's largest motorsports governing
body.

25 Collector Cars Ranging from a 1903 Steam-Powered Locomobile to a 1954
Packard Clipper Found in Barn
Just when you thought all the great cars had been found,
another set of doors open to reveal an amazing collection of heavy
metal.
Trust us, this isn't another "too-good-to-be-true" tale of vintage metal
found in a Portuguese Barn. This one is the real deal.
A lucky guy out in Maryland stumbled upon the find of a lifetime tucked
away in a barn that includes twenty-five "forgotten" cars. Nestled among
the dusty automotive relics was a heap of vintage metal ranging from a
1903 steam-powered Locomobile runabout to a 1954 Packard Clipper. This
incredible find is every collector's dream and also included a beautiful
1937 Packard Twelve, a 1931 Renault town car and a 1912 Pierce.
All we can say is that we wish that we'd been the ones to find them!
CLICK HERE to check out the photos, video, and the
story of this amazing discovery.

Watch your e-mail inboxes over the next two weeks for our special
editions of the
Old Cars Weekly e-newsletter "live" from the Fall
Carlisle and Hershey Car Shows. We will be sending these special issues
right from the heart of all the action to keep you informed of all that
is happening at these two great events.
If you are interested in advertising in either of these special issues,

Deals
Abound at Fall Carlisle
It's often said, If you can't find it at Carlisle, you probably
won't find it. This year, that saying is ringing true as the sun shines
down on a packed event.
The word around the show is that business is brisk for the vendors,
except for those who had anticipated a booming business selling
sweatshirts and warm jackets.
