Custom
Car Designer Considering Legal Action
Foose Design announced recently that effective immediately it has
terminated all licensing and all business activities with Texas-based
Unique Performance, Unique Performance Concepts and related companies.
This termination includes the production of all vehicles formerly
licensed to Unique including, but not limited to, the Foose Mustang
Stallion, Foose Camaro, Foose Challenger, Foose
Motorcycle and the sales and marketing of the "Hemisfear",
also known as the "Foose Coupe", manufactured by Metalcrafters.
The decision came just days after local authorities raided Unique
Performance's production facility and seized 61 vintage mustangs in a
move that could have come straight from the scripts of Foose's popular "Overhaulin'"
television show. The Foose camp is now considering legal action.

Granny
Robs Gas Station: Faces Life in Prison
Have you ever wondered if skyrocketing gas prices are having an
impact on the average consumer?
Here's your proof. A 65-year-old Michigan woman recently robbed a Sunoco
with a toy gun wrapped in electrical tape...only to drive three miles
down the road to use her ill gotten loot to fill her gas tank. Given the
limited number of gray-haired bandits in the area at the time, police
were on the scene before she could finish filling her tank.

grandma.

Come
on...Tell Us What You Really Think
This week's OCW Reader Poll asks:
"Have you ever knocked on anyone's door to ask/convince them to
sell a car that was sitting in their yard?"
Personally, I never have a problem stopping to ask if a car sitting in a
yard, barn or possibly even an open garage, is for sale. I always assume
that if the owner isn't interested in selling they will simply tell me
to hit the road. No harm done...Unless they have a really big dog!

Hottest
and Coolest Cars Of All Time
From Angelo's Blog:
Recently, I was asked what the top 10 hottest cars were, and it got me
thinking...what are the 10 "coldest" cars, as in, what cars' values are
sinking the fastest, or just plain aren't moving?

under-performers. |

Get
'em While They're Hot
Henry's Lady may have put America in wheels 100 years ago, but
Ford's claim to fame remains as exciting to Model T fans as the day the
first one rolled off the line, and changed U.S. society forever.
The classic design and rich photography of this reference offers fans
and collectors a unique and useful commemorative of the 100 year
anniversary of the car that changed the world. Beautiful pictures of
both present restorations and past vintage machines, along with the
stories and history of those who own these living legends, show just why
all who have dealt with Tin Lizzie have become a part of American
history.
The Legendary Model T Ford: The Ultimate History of America's First
Great Automobile will be available December 5th from Krause
Publications.

Barris-Designed
Firebird Up For Auction
Just in time for the holidays, John Travolta's custom-designed
Pontiac Firebird – dubbed "Travolta Fever" – is on the online auction
block.
Sure, Travolta has moved on to piloting his own jet since his days on
Welcome Back, Kotter, but back in his '70s-heyday, the Saturday
Night Fever star had a custom Firebird, designed by George Barris,
to commemorate his rising career.
Unable to resist the temptation, after Travolta's success in Urban
Cowboy, Barris revamped the interior of the car to reflect America's
growing appreciation for cowboys and country music. It was then that the
car was outfitted with genuine cowhide seats, enough brown leather to
choke a horse and a saddle astride the center console.
