Swing by the parking lot. You never know what you're missing.
Sure,
car shows are great venues for meeting with friends and taking in some
nice rides, but there's more to a car show than what is behind the
ropes. There's also the parking lot!
Simple parking lots can be a field of treasure. Not everyone can stay
for a whole day at a car show, but they want to be sure to take in an
event's sights while they have time. And if it's a nice day, you can bet
they drove their old car to the event, even if they didn't plan on
entering their car in the show.
To take a stroll through the parking lot with Angelo, click

Gunner's Garage: I don't need another...
A
trip to a local salvage yard leads to a heart-wrenching decision: "So
wouldn't you know it ... we get to Sunset Curve and there sits a vehicle
that definitely needs a collector to own it. We never even heard of a
KING truck before, but it appears to be some type of Japanese,
Korean (or maybe even Chinese) model. It actually reminded us of some
Volkswagen models of years ago, but it had a Toyota flavor to it as
well."

Hillbilly Hoax: Bogus $10 M bid for General Lee
After
riding high on the wave of publicity following the nearly $10 million
eBay bid for his version of the iconic "General
Lee" late last week, former "Dukes of Hazzard" star John
Schneider may be feeling "lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut"
today.
According to reports, the winning bid was a hoax and could lead to a
legal tussle that may just require the services of good ol' Sheriff
Roscoe P. Coltrane to sort out.

Fishy
Tale: '61 Galaxie hooked at Wisconsin lake
They didn't find Jimmy Hoffa but a mystery remains surrounding a
car raised from Long Lake, east of Centuria, Wis., recently.
According to local reports, a whopper of a 1961 Ford Galaxie was pulled
out of the mud and muck of Long Lake recently after local residents
spotted the classic cruiser rusting away on the bottom of their lake.
Local authorities are still uncertain who the car belongs to, how it
ended up as a retirement home for local catfish or even how long it had
been submerged. The only thing most of the parties involved with the
catch can agree on... is that this one is definitely a keeper.

George Barris called on the (red) carpet
It's been the car hobby's dirty little secret, but now that secret
is being shouted across all forms of media – George Barris didn't build
the original Monkeemobiles, "Dukes of Hazzard" Dodge Chargers or "Back
to the Future" DeLorean.
During the renaming of Los Angeles' Riverside Drive and
Riverton Avenue to George Barris Place on March 23, several
famous cars and replicas from the Barris Star Cars Collection were on
exhibit. Let's just say that the folks over at Universal Studios took
notice... and possibly even legal action.
Will George Barris find a way out of this legal predicament?
Will his "Back to the Future" DeLorean ever see the light of day?
Tune in next week to find out what happens to the "King of Kustomizers,"
or you can simply click,

Call the cops, Cletus! The world has gone mad!
Every
once in a while, the old car hobby surfaces in the mainstream media.
It's unfortunate when the news centers on the value of our cars, because
there's much more to this hobby than dollar values of our cars.
The most recent incident revolves around a 1969 Dodge Charger owned by
John Schneider, who co-starred in the TV series "Dukes of Hazzard."
Even after several swigs of Alabama moonshine, there's no way anyone
call sell me on the idea that a recreation of a TV show car is worth
almost $10 million, even if it was built for one of the people who
helped make it famous.

Common
Thieves Steal Rare Car, Parts
If you steal the Mona Lisa, the world is going to notice. If you steal a
car in which just 57 remain, especially when it bears the Duesenberg
eagle on its radiator, car collectors are going to jump out of their
car's bucket seats.
Thieves in Los Angeles County learned the hard way that stealing a very
rare car, and then attempting to fence the "loot" on eBay, was not the
best way to keep a low profile.
