Keep Up To Speed May

CARnival! A day-long celebration of the motoring hobby for car collectors, weekend cruisers and people who just like cars.

The CARnival Car Show, which runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is the cornerstone of the festivities, is a cruise-in-style car show for “anything with wheels,” from vintage tractors to modern sports and performance cars. New this year will be a separate show devoted to “Fords at Hershey” with a Ford-products area and special participant awards. Participants are encouraged to take part in Village Parade tentatively scheduled to depart the Museum at 11 a.m. and go for a 6.3-mile tour around Hershey and return to the Museum.

Think you’ve seen it all? Think again! Some very unique vehicles – including the Hershey’s Kissmobile Cruiser, the Meow Mix Meow Mobile, the Official 2007 Pocono Raceway Pace Car and a US Army high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV), to name a few – will take part in the festivities this year.

Antique-car rides, JimBo the Clown and plenty of mouthwatering food round out the festivities on the grounds surrounding the Museum from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. With no admission fee for the activities taking place on the grounds, you can bring the family! The Museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with normal admission fees charged.

For more information, visit our website for a complete timeline of events and activities.

The Antique Auto Museum at Hershey (AACA Museum) and Pocono Raceway are proud to work together with the Museum’s “AMERICA AT SPEED” exhibit and the Pocono Raceway’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races.

The AMERICA AT SPEED Exhibit will run from June 16 to Oct. 14, 2007.
The Pocono 500 will be held June 8 through 10, 2007.
The Pennsylvania 500 will be held Aug. 3
through 5, 2007.
The Museum will feature a vintage 1931 Ford racecar with a 307 Chevy V-8 Motor, raced by driver Bill Ulsh in Western PA in 1964, to the June Pocono race for fans to enjoy. This car is AACA certified and won second place in the 2005 fall Hershey meet.

The Official Pocono Pace Car will be at the Museum June 23 for visitors to see and take photos with the car.

We’re working together on some exciting giveaways so check back to our website in June for all the details.

For more information about the Pocono Raceway or tickets to the race, visit www.poconoraceway.com.
