On January 15, 1946 our group was chartered and became the
first Region
of the eleven year old
Antique Automobile Club of America. Today, our Region's 220 families extend from the suburbs of Chicago to encompass the Northeastern section of Illinois. Our passion is Touring!! We have a three night Spring Tour in May every year and a three night Fall Tour in October. We were happy to have hosted The 2004 National Central Divisional Tour on September 8 - 12 2004, and will host The 2011 National Central Division Fall Meet in June of that year. Our 61st Annual 2009 Lake Forest Auto Show, held on July 19, 2009, is one of the nations longest running Auto Shows. Our Membership Meeting on January 24, 2009 has begun our 63rd year promoting the Car Hobby and AACA. Our Swap Meet was at Don McCue Chevrolet in St. Charles, IL. on January 11, 2009. The Illinois Region's six Chapters alternate running each of these events. In addition to our Region events, each Chapter has their own meetings each month with their own Car Shows & Tours. We are a busy group and we like to have a good time, which isn't hard to do when a bunch of car-nuts get together. Welcome to our Website! Get to know our Chapters and the events that we enjoy and contact us to have a good time!!
Visit the AACA National Website at www.aaca.org. Click on the National Logo on any page. Also click on the AACA Museum Logo to go to their website. Look into the AACA Museum page with some news from Hemmings about another new Museum! Check out the news in Keep Up To Speed, the Museum's Online Newsletter. Be sure to support the Museum with purchases you're already making online at www.ShopforMuseums.com and choose The Antique Auto Museum. Plan ahead for your trip to the 75th Anniversary in June of 2010!
Entries in our Sidelights page take us back in time to June 24, 1950 to Lake Forest and the "Second Annual Spring Meet - Midwest Region AACA". Also on line is the very first Region Newsletter published in April, 1949.
