Millers to carry on Carlisle tradition

CARLISLE, Pa. - Chip Miller, co-founder of Carlisle Events, had a favorite saying: "Life is good." His son, Lance, has carried on that tradition, and it appears he will continue to carry on a lot more at Carlisle Events with his long-time friend Bill Miller III.

In a recent meeting, Bill Miller Jr., announced that Lance Miller and Bill Miller III, his son, will continue in their respective families' tradition of operating the Carlisle Events business at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.

AACA Museum opens for home-schooled children

HERSHEY, Pa. - Innovation and invention will be the focus of the Homeschool Day 20 07 event at the AACA Museum in Hershey, Pa., March 14.

[description]

Age-appropriate activities and learning labs supported by Pennsylvania State Standards in history, math, economics, English, science and technology will occur throughout the exhibits, all told through automotive culture.

"In addition to the special brass-era cars, the children will have an opportunity to cruise eight decades of automobiles in unique settings," said AACA Museum curator Jeff Bliemeister, "and they will have wonderful interactive experiences as well, like sitting at the counter of a restored 1941 diner comparing menu prices, or jumping on the bell of a recreated World War II-era service station."

Old Cars Weekly has always been about communication. Until now, the weekly “Sound Your Horn,” “When I was a Boy” and “Reader Photos” sections, as well as the other reader-driven areas of Old Cars, were the main podiums for reader thoughts and opinions. But now there’s more.

To continue the communication-driven spirit of Old Cars, blogs have been unveiled on the Old Cars Web site as a new method of contact between Old Cars staff members and readers. On a regular basis, members of the Old Cars staff will post stories of our travels, experiences and thoughts on these blogs, sometimes with photographs. And the best part is, you can respond. So far, John Gunnell, who was been associated with Old Cars for nearly 30 years, Auction and Technical Editor Ron Kowalke and Editor Angelo Van Bogart will be posting blogs that we hope will entertain you or get you thinking about trends in the hobby. Be sure to check back frequently to see what other Old Cars readers have to say!
