2008
Show Will Feature Show-Stoppers From the Big Screen to the Big Three
The 2008 Green Bay, Wis., World of Wheels show will be held earlier
this year than in the past.
One car that is sure to turn heads this year is the beautiful 1932 Ford
owned by Scott and Marion Jobb of Chicago. The gorgeous red Vicki was
one of the International Show Car Association's Top Ten finalists last
year, and the Jobbs' preparations for the 2008 circuit have the car
looking better than ever.
This year's show will also feature another Eddie Paul creation for the
young car enthuiast, the real-life "Tow-Mater" tow truck from the "Cars"
movie.

Unique
Display Celebrated Early Years of Century Old Show
Being the first worldwide event to reach the 100-show mark, the
Chicago Auto Show celebrated in fitting fashion Feb. 8-17 at McCormick
Place South and the North Hall on Chicago's south side.
While the biggest news of the show was not vintage — but with strong
connections to the past — as Dodge unveiled the production 2008
Challenger SRT coupe, there were more than enough cars on display to
keep any vintage enthusiast as happy as a kid in a candy store.

Forget
the Tuxedo, Plan on Wearing Your Wetsuit
Believe it or not, the Swiss have invented a car that runs on land
and underwater—and it's a convertible.
It's called the "sQuba," and conjures up memories of James Bond's
amphibious Lotus Esprit from "The Spy Who Loved Me."
The concept car, which, unlike Bond's is not armed with rockets,
ejector-seats, or oil slick spewing sprayers, was developed by Swiss
designer Rinspeed Inc. and is set to make a splash at the Geneva Auto
Show next month.

IROC
Sale Will Include Tools, Equipment and 15 Cars
In its prime, the IROC (International Race of Champions) series was
white hot, thanks in no small part to heavy promotion gained by
Chevrolet's introduction of the IROC-Z Camaro in 1985. Twenty-three
years later, IROC is no more, a reality that was foreshadowed last year
when its series sponsor pulled out and no races were run.
All of the organization's assets are being liquidated at an auction next
month at the IROC shop in Tinton Falls, N.J. Tools, shop equipment,
parts, 15 race cars and IROC memorabilia will cross the block starting
at 10 a.m. A pre-auction inspection is scheduled for 8 a.m.
