Illinois Region Spring Tour 2004

It's Friday morning and it's a little wet driving through some back roads of Illinois farm country to get to our first stop of the Spring Tour. The McIntire Farm has a museum in one of the farm buildings.

Ted and Barb Griffin, leading the pack on the Tour, were having a pretty wet time of it in their open 1911 Model T.  Everyone else had their windows rolled up. Here's some other cars on Tour :

We had a stop at Earl Schoenwald's house to see his gorgeous '60 Olds 88 Convertible and his collection of toys.

Frank Ludtke's Farm contains a building which houses all kinds of memorabilia for The Ian Fleming Foundation from numerous 007 movies in the form of posters, snow mobiles, boats, cars, and pictures.

The Bennett-Curtis House is our lunch stop today. We parked around the house and down the street and went inside to do what Illinois Region Members do best while on Tour.  The reason everyone is smiling and happy is most of these pictures were taken after everyone was done eating.

Congratulations to our newly weds Eldon and Barb Fraser!!

Long-time Momence Chapter members Ralph and Adeline Baker are here at the Manteno Veterans' Home of Illinois (Ralph is a resident) along with as many Veterans as they could wheel out.  Ralph and Adeline never missed a Region Tour or Club function!   We drove onto the lawn so the residents could get closer to the cars and talk to us.  We all had a great time as you can see!!

Leaving the Veterans' Home it's only a couple of miles to the Manteno Antique Mall which was deceptively large.  One of the better ones in the area.  Across the street is Rad Rides By Troy.  Troy has been featured on two "Learning Channel" programs: "Overhaulin'" and "Rides".  Another show is in the works.
