[description]Neil Young's 'gross polluter?' Give me a break!

Recently, Angelo was forwarded a link to a CNN article featuring famous musician Neil Young and his effort to install an electric/biodiesel powerplant in his 1959 Lincoln.

Apparently, the car's 430-cid V-8 gets 10 mpg, and Johnathan Goodwin, who is yanking the engine in order to install the hybrid engine, says the new power source will get 100 mpg.

Now, Angelo is all for doing things to make sure our kids have as clean of a place to prosper as we did (Remember: he is an Eagle scout who has planted more trees and picked up more garbage than there are old-car fallacies to be shared), but this article used Young's project as a chance to attack the old car hobby.

CLICK HERE to learn if Angelo is planning to go green with his classic cars.

[description]Organizers Seeking  Circa-1901 Cars For New Display

When a show's history dates as far back as 1901, it's hard to imagine how it looked to those first curious attendees. However, the 2008 Chicago Auto Show, to be held Feb. 8-17, will offer a glimpse at the origins of its first show.

Among the display of more than 1,000 new vehicles will be a special area in McCormick Place reproducing the look and cars of the first Chicago show. And organizers are looking for more circa-1901 cars to display in this special 100th anniversary section.

CLICK HERE to learn how you can get involved.

[description]Swedish Hoonage With a Twist

Sweden, the home of cold weather, safe cars and ABBA. Oh yes, and the Turbine Charger, a '72 Dodge Charger equipped with a 500-horsepower Caterpillar 553-2-1 turbine engine.

One has to wonder if anyone will ever have the guts to grip the wheel of this interesting car and white-knuckle a ride at top speed. Is this taking the need for speed a little too far?

CLICK HERE to check out this car.

[description]Road to a Rust Free Future?

After spending nearly 50 years quietly rusting beneath the Tulsa County Courthouse lawn, the 1957 Plymouth Belvedere affectionately known as "Miss Belvedere," is on the road once again.

After months of legal wrangling to establish ownership of what is clearly the most famous "finned" Mopar in the world (yes, even more famous than Stephen King's "infamous" Christine), Miss Belvedere has begun her journey east — and possibly toward a rust-free future.

CLICK HERE to see where she is heading.

[description]Hundreds of Classics Saved from Crusher

For decades George Watterson accumulated hundreds of old cars and trucks (and a mountain of related parts), but never operated his place as a salvage yard.

Quite the contrary. Watterson not only did not sell his vehicles or their parts, he did his best to discourage potential buyers from even coming on his property asking if things could be bought.

That all changed earlier this month when the auctioneer's gavel began to fall as more than 200 classic cars emerged from the woods near Mitchell, IN.

CLICK HERE to check out the results of this amazing auction and our exclusive photos.
