Welcome to the Waukegan Chapter
of the
Illinois Region AACA.
We were one of three Chapters approved by AACA National on February
13, 1959. Des Plaines Valley Chapter, Fox Valley Chapter and Waukegan
Chapter were all approved on the same day according to National Board Meeting
Minutes. Our Chapter name starts with a "W", which alphabetically makes us
the third Chapter in the Illinois Region AACA. We concentrate our
membership in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago. We have a lot in common with
our sister Chapter, the North Shore Chapter of the Illinois Region AACA. Some
events we share responsibilities every other year, with events ultimately being
a Waukegan/North Shore collaboration.
Our common goal is to preserve and restore our antique automobiles and the
history we associate with them. We have a wealth of experience in our Chapter
which is readily shared with other members in monthly meetings and events. From
the turn of the century "horseless carriage", to the muscle cars of the 60's
and 70's,
each Waukegan Chapter member takes pride in their car and the work that it takes
to keep it alive.
Every second Friday of the month our meetings are held at The Gorton
Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest, IL. in the Friends room
