This years Illinois Region Spring Tour to Door County Wisconsin was our first
Progressive Tour in many years. The additional miles we needed to cover made it
necessary for an extra day and two extra motels. And, of course, everything was
perfectly planned and will thought out thanks to our North Shore Chapter hosts.
Bob Grutza (President) organized and ran the route 3 times to check for
disappearing roads. Bob Wenderski used his past experience of planning
tours to the Door County area to map out part of the Tour and kept track of
everyone daily. Mr. Dick Murray mapped out part of the Tour and added the
"private collection" stops with, as you will see, some very impressive vintage
automobiles. Cheri Runnfeldt put together all the fliers, the name tags,
the itinerary for everyone, and also with help from Wayne and Cheryl Rissmann,
and Donna Horn, they all took care of the Hospitality Room each night.
Thanks also to Jack Runnfeldt, who gave up his living room for three months, and
was able to just barely get it into his "car". And last but not least, he was
always last on the Tour, thanks to Dan Helgren for driving the "Emergency
Vehicle" the entire Tour.
Everyone had a great time on this Tour! We had some rain the first two
days, and managed sunny and 60's and 70's for the rest of the Tour.
Here's some pictures I took as did Cheri Runnfeldt and Wayne and Cheryl
Rissmann.

Wednesday night & Thursday morning, is open to new arrivals. We have

touring on to Algoma for a winery tour. On the way to Egg Harbor in Door
County, we sill stop for lunch which is included. Arriving at the Landmark

beverages and munchies, dinner is on your own.
Friday, we will tour the North end of Door County with the rest of the day for
shopping and antiquing. Door county is known for the art shops and unique
specialty shops. Some of the shops are awaiting for our arrivals with
discounts. Friday evening we will attend a fish boil where you have a choice
of the whitefish or broasted chicken for dinner. Dinner is included.
Saturday is a tour through the South end of Door County, then through the
scenic Kettle Moraine, stopping for a buffet lunch, which is also
included. Our destination is to the hotels in either Hartford or Jackson,
WI. A tour at the Wisconsin Automobile Museum will be followed with
a delicious banquet dinner. For an after dinner dessert, after the banquet
we will attend a car cruise at Culvers.
Sunday you have the choice of following our tour to Germantown where they are
holding their MaiFest, then a scenic drive back to Illinois, or you can go on
your own to Cedarburg for the unique shops, wine tasting, antiques, or to
watch a real blacksmith. Your third choice is to head on home.

Dick Murray or Jerry Lechtenberg.
If you need additional tour registration packets, maps or directions, please
