NATIONAL PRINT MEDIA HITS THE STANDS AND MAILBOXES WITH MCACN COVERAGE!
One of the most exciting things for me is when the national magazines start hitting my mailbox with Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals coverage inside. Well...it has begun! Last week I received an e-mail from the Muscle Car Review crew alerting me that we were in the February issue. I kept watching for my mailman to bring my new issue, but by the time I left for AZ, it had not made it. Well...while sitting waiting for my plane at Detroit Metro, I decided to take a walk to the news stand and wha-la; the new issue was there! What awesome coverage inside. With a 2-page spread opening the article, titled Ain’t No Slackin’ at MCACN” by Arvid Svendsen, featuring the outstanding ‘71’s from Tim and Pam Wellborn and the Wellborn Muscle Car Museum, to the ten additional shots inside, Arvid did a fine job of capturing the feel. This is indeed quite a task, considering we had over 500 cars in the show, all worthy of coverage. Here is a quote from Tim Wellborn; “It was the largest and finest collection of muscle cars I’ve ever seen assembled in one place.” Thanks Tim! If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, run down to the store now and snag one, and after you read it, send in the subscription card, you’ll be glad you did! Many thanks go out to Arvid, who has been on board since our inception, and has helped immensely by allowing us to spread the word about our show.
Another awesome magazine that has hit
the stands with MCACN not only inside, but also on the cover, is
Mopar Collectors Guide. Remember those
pretty ladies up front near that gorgeous one-off Shelby GT-500 convertible that
was unveiled Saturday morning? Well, MCG Publisher Rob Wolf grabbed Samantha
Styles, (owner of not only that particular Shelby, but also the black GTO Judge,
the red Boss 429 and the red Hemi Cuda that were in the show) and talked her
into posing for the cover, inside the beautiful ‘67 Hemi GTX convertible owned
by Walt Keller that was in the Totally Auto “Before and After” display! Inside,
Rob gives his thoughts on the show, and even though they never do show coverage,
we manage to get some great plugs and pictures in his intro. Thanks Rob! I also
have to thank our official MCACN photographer Al Rogers of Freeze Frame Image
for that awesome cover shot. I am betting this will be one of the best selling
issues of MCG to date. If you aren’t a subscriber, (and you should be), run down
to your local Barnes and Noble book store, you won’t miss the cover!
Well, we are still recuperating from our
Arizona trip, where we confirmed some great stuff for MCACN 2012. (more about
that later). Remember, if you purchased a car at one of the AZ auctions and
would like to join us November 17-18 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center
in Rosemont, (greater Chicago), IL.
Registration is NOW OPEN. Registration for
vendors is also open and we have some
excellent sponsorship opportunities. Let us know how we can serve YOU! As
always, we welcome your suggestions, feedback and comments. We are committed to
“raise the bar” and continue to produce a world class family friendly all indoor
event devoted to the country’s absolute best Muscle Cars, Dealer-built Supercars
and Corvettes.
