Illinois Region Spring Tour - May 14 Thru 17

This year's Spring Tour was a Hub Tour in the Auburn, Indiana area; we stayed at the

Thanks to Don for the group photos above.  The balance of the photos on this page you'll see in a montage layout that you can click on to get a larger image.  These photos are all thanks to Rick Shaw and Dave Arnswald both as you will see did a great job and took some very nice pictures.

The first group is from Thursday at the LaPorte County Historical Museum which houses the auto collection of Dr. Peter and Charlene Kesling.  The autos include a Duesey, a Cord, a Tucker, a Delorean, a Baker electric and a 1903 Winton which the Keslings drove coast-to-coast!  The Museum also has a good collection of antique Dolls and Toys, a replica 1920's Kitchen, a replica Victorian Parlor, gun collections and more.

Our living history museum preserves the stories of the past and features artisans of traditional American crafts.  Heather Ritchie is one of Britain's most experienced rug makers and teachers of rug making. Over 35 years ago she made her first utilitarian mats to cover the bare stone floors of her home. Since then she has developed the craft way beyond the ordinary and her fine-hooked richly detailed pictorial work has been called 'painting with fabric'. Heather's work, with its beautiful landscapes and expressive faces created using mixed textures, is known worldwide.
