Minutes of the General Membership Meeting Historic Virginia Peninsula Region of AACA October 14, 2008
Introduction: The Historic Virginia Peninsula Region (HVPR) of the Antique Automobile Club of American (AACA) met on October 14th at Wok-N-Roll on Mercury Blvd.
Call to Order: President Beth Hartel called the meeting to order at approximately 7:00 pm. We had 26 member and 5 guests attend the meeting.
Welcome: President Beth Hartel welcomed all who attended the meeting. There were 26 club members and the 5 guests which were Betty Lou Blanchard, Doris & Joe Davidson, Ethel Sawyer and guest speaker Larry Printz. Birthdays celebrated in September were Jeannette Buris, Dale Bray, Marty Raffaele and Christine York. Tim and Jeannette Buris had their 25th wedding anniversaries onSeptember 2nd. Birthdays in October were Beth Hartel and Judy Bray. Maize and Bob Williams have two new grand daughters. Bob Williams bought a 1931 model A Ford in Hershey. Larry Printz, who writes in the car section of the Virginia Pilot, spoke about the new cars coming out. Larry said to aspect to see smaller engines cars in cars and more hybrid cars in the future. Anastasia Cassidy said the blessing.
Old Business: Arnold Nye gave a brief treasurers report
New Business: We are still in need of volunteers for the HVPR Officers. Arnold Nye volunteered to take the Minutes for November And December. We still need a President for 2010, Secretary and Membership Chairperson. Mickey York and Jim Bostic volunteered to be the 2 Board Member that was needed. President Hartel thanked Jim, Mickey and Arnold for stepping up to help HVPR. Vice President Nick Raffaele cannot fill the President position in 2010. The VPCCC is selling calendars to help rise money for the Virginia Fall Classic. You can get your calendar for $10.00 each. Up coming car shows is the Virginia Fall Classic on October 24, 25, &26 at Newport News Park. October 19th is the Farewell to the Buris’ Rain date is November 1st. Our next club meeting will be November 11th at Angelo’s Pancakeand Steak house on J Clyde Morris Blvd.
Next Board of Directors meeting will be held ½ hour before the General Membership meeting on October 11 at Angelo’s Pancake and Steak on J Clyde Morris Blvd. All HVPR members are welcome to attend.
