Minutes of the General Membership Meeting
August 12, 2008
Introduction: The Historic Virginia Peninsula Region (HVPR)
of the Antique Automobile Club of American (AACA) met on August 12
at Joe & Mimma’s Pizza.
Call to Order: President Beth Hartel called the meeting to order at
approximately 7:11 pm.
Welcome: President Beth Hartel welcomed all who attended the
meeting. There were 26 club members and the guests were Betty Lou
Blanchard, Ethel Sawyer and our guest speaker Robert Fries. JD
Frantz has a birthday on August 25 and we have two anniversaries in
the month of august Ken & Judy Lownes and John & Helen Mitchell.
Anastasia Cassidy said the blessing.
Old Business:
Arnold Nye gave the treasurers report. We have money, we spent
money, we took some money in and we still have money.
New Business: Anastasia Cassidy was presented with a
certificate from President Hartel for over thirty years of
involvement in the HVPR club. Anastasia has held numerous board
propositions.
RoundUp chairperson Dale
Bray said all is in place for the RoundUp. If anyone has items for
the raffle, Dale asks the members to bring them to the RoundUp the
day of the show. If you are planning on going to a car show please
take RoundUp flyers and pass them out. Flyers are available from
Dale.
The program for the evening was Robert Fries with Senior
Member of the Malcolm Fries and Associates Organization. Mr. Fries
talked about investing your money for the future and how important
it is to have a plan. He answered several questions during the
evening.
President Hartel gave an update on up coming car shows. She informed
the club members about a photo shoot at the Devonshire Asst. living
Home on Executive drive in Hampton. They are looking for cars 1920
to 1929 to use in a photo shoot for the residences to get there
pictures made with the antique cars.

RoundUp is Sept 6th at Newport News Park. August 23 is the Lee Hall
car show directed by Clay Drnec.
Ft Eustis Retirement days is on Sept 6th.
Sept 13th. Go Classic at
Port Warwick they are looking for 25 cars, see Hal if you are
interested.
Sept. 20th the Tidewater
Wings and Wheels.
Next Board of Directors meeting will be held August 26th at Custom
Garden’s, 337 Redoubt Rd. All HVPR members are welcome to attend.
