JACOB'S WELL

Harford Region members were invited to Jacob’s Well Assisted Living Center near Bel Air on September 29, 2007 to host a small antique car show for the residents.  Due to space limitations, the number of cars at the event was limited to 15 . Jacob's Well staff member Ginelle Johnson arranged for the visit and Harford Region member Vernon "Stoney" Stonesifer organized the Region's participation.  Harford Region always enjoys an opportunity to drive their cars and visit with senior citizens.  The sunny and warm day provided a great atmosphere for a show.

Harford Region vehicles on display included:

           1963 Chevrolet/Howe fire truck
Three non-member cars were also displayed.

Food and refreshments were provided by Jacob’s Well, including a large decorated cake that welcomed Harford Region.  A professional DJ played an assortment of 1950s music while members of the staff and some residents danced to the tunes.  The facility staff and some of the residents were dressed in 50s fashions and  a 50’s fashion contest involving the residents was held.

At the end of the afternoon festivities, first and second place trophies were presented for cars chosen by people’s choice, and a trophy was presented for the vehicle selected by the residents as their favorite.
