HARFORD
REGION'S
2006 ANNUAL DINNER
Harford Region’s Annual Dinner was held on November 12 at the Bayou Restaurant in Havre de Grace. The evening provided food, camaraderie, and entertainment; for those that attended. The hosts for the evening were Evelyn and Charlie Blevins.
The evening began with opening remarks by Charlie Blevins and presentation of the Early Bird Award. However, the three reservations had arrived at the same time, so each of the three couples received what seemed like a simple, nine-piece puzzle to solve for a special prize. However, neither Pat and Lee Pritchett, Mary Grace and Charlie Smith or Di and Bruce Wheeler were able to solve the complex puzzle during the time allotted.
The group then enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner provided by the Bayou. Entertainment for the evening was a performance by a German Band from Westminster. The group was also visited by strange man carrying a chicken and told good a chicken joke.
The outgoing region officers were recognized and presented service awards, after which, the incoming officers were inducted by Gene Poole. The officers for 2007 are President – Al Burns, Vice President – Fred Brandon, Secretary – Kathleen Smith, and Treasurer – Vickie Thacker.
Al Burns addressed the group about Harford Region during the past year and thoughts on the coming year. Kathleen Smith then presented the Harold Clemens Award (Harford Region's recognition for outstanding work during the past year) to Judy Burns for her service to the club during the past year. Each couple received a door prize before the evening of fun, food and camaraderie came to an end.
