HARFORD REGION'S
2004 SPRING FEAST FOOD DRIVE
Harford Region held its 2004 Spring Feast Food Drive on the night of May 25,
2004 at the club's monthly business meeting. Despite bad weather that
included high wind and severe thunderstorms, members turned out with bags and
boxes of food and some personal care items. Over 360 pounds of food were
collected and loaded into a truck.
On the morning of May 28, Harford Region President Vernon "Stoney"
Stonesifer driving his 1956 Ford Victoria, and Di and Bruce Wheeler driving the
truck full of food, delivered the items to the Harford Food Bank located in
Aberdeen, Maryland. Stoney's Ford was a hit with the food bank employees
and the food bank appreciated the donation very much. The staff of the
food bank had photos taken for the local newspaper, the Aegis.
The food drives for the county food bank is one of several ways that Harford
Region gives to the community. The club holds two food drives each year,
one in the Spring and one in the Fall. The next Harford Region food drive
will be in the Fall at a yet to be announced date.

HARFORD REGION'S
2004 FALL FEAST FOOD DRIVE
Harford Region held its 2004
Fall Feast Food Drive on the night of October 19, 2004 at the club's monthly
business meeting. A luck would have it, this nigfht was also a night of
bad weather and severe storms. The attendance at the meeting was lower
than normal but those that did make the meeting made up for it by donating 450
pounds of food and personal care items that filled the bed of the pickup
truck!
Since our Spring Feast Food Drive in May, the Harford Food Bank located in
Aberdeen, Maryland had gone out of business and the property sold. This
meant a new location to deliver our donations needed to be found.
After checking the available food pantries in the county, it was decided to
deliver the food to the Harford Community Action Agency, Inc. in Bel Air,
Maryland which operates the Bel Air Emergency Food Pantry.
On the morning of October 26, Harford Region President Stoney Stonesifer drove his 1956 Ford Victoria to
meet Bruce and Diane with their 1931 Ford Deluxe Tudor and modern pickup loaded
with
food. They arrived early at the Food Pantry were they met the pantry's
coordinator, Mr. Jerry Campbell and unloaded the food. Mr. Campbell
was both surprised and very appreciative at the amount of food that was
delivered. The Food Pantry appeared to have a very impressive operation
and it was
decided that the Bel Air Emergency
Food Pantry would be the regular recipient for future donations.
The next Harford Region food drive will be in the Spring of 2005 at a yet to be announced date.
