As people arrived, committee members accepted their food contributions and made sure it
went to the right places. A container was located next to the door for each family
to contribute money for a local soup kitchen. Presents for the children began to
appear under the Christmas tree. Ka-Boom the Clown entertained the children and
provided then with balloon creations. Some of the younger children took time to play
in the maze. Other children were busy at the craft table making reindeer and ice
skate ornaments for the Christmas tree.
Festive centerpieces created by the Christmas Party committee adorned each table. People had a chance to socialize with old and new friends before dinner. Following an invocation, everyone began feasting on the abundant and delicious food. A bounty of sweet desserts were available to top off the meal. The children had the opportunity to select and ice their own cupcakes for dessert if they wanted to. During dinner, live holiday music put everyone in the festive mood.
Following dinner, live music was provided for a group sing-along of Christmas songs that ultimately led up to the arrival of the big man in red...Santa Claus! Santa went around and greeted everyone before taking his seat next to the Christmas tree. Kids of all ages gathered around as Santa handed out the presents from under the Christmas tree and checked to make sure everyone had been good during the year.
As with every Harford Region event,
the 2003 Christmas Party was a fun event enjoyed by all!
