DSR members received a briefing on Homeland Security at the October meeting.

Dick Cashdollar, DSR member and currently the Senior Advisor to the Major Cities Police Chiefs' Association, briefed club members on the many aspects of Homeland Security.

DSR officers listen intently to what Dick has to say.

Members were very interested in what Dick was saying about Homeland Security.

Refreshments followed the meeting.

A FINGER LICKING GOOD MEETING

DSR MEMBERS ENJOYED FRIED CHICKEN AND MANY EXTRAS PRIOR TO OUR JULY MEETING.

 

July 11th

Fire-stone Tire store on Schillingers Road at Cottage Hill Road

A car show to raise funds for a baby with a serious illness.

Participating DSR members were; Thurmond Bell, Zeno Chaudron, Kevin Crowell, Walt Fuller, Steve Goren, Buddy and Patt Paquet, and Bobby Peterson.  

 

Operation Afghanistan/Iraq Enduring Freedom Memorial Cruise-in

June 6th, 2009 at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.

All proceeds benefited the Afghanistan/Iraq War Memorial.

Many thanks to the Gear Jammers Car Club of Baldwin County & the Battleship Commission for a truly inspiring event.

Steve and Cathy Goren's 1958 Biscayne won the "Crew Mates Choice" Award.

When is a cougar (Felis concolor) and a panther not the same thing?

When one is an F9F-5P (Panther), a 50's era US Navy photo recon aircraft.

And one is a 1968 Mercury Cougar.

DSR Supports Activities at Allen Memorial Home.

Lycle Crowdus, Walt Fuller, and Buddy and Patt Paquet provided vehicles.

DSR ADDS TO SOCK HOP NOSTALGIA

May 7th was the date for a sock-hop fund raiser for the Beverly M. Burton Scholarship Trust held at the Country Club of Mobile. Mrs. Burton was very active in supporting the activities of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in Alabama. The trust is a supporting organization of the Clubs. DSR members were happy to provide some vehicles to help take the participants back in time.
