Chesapeake Region
SPIRIT AWARD
Initiated in 1979, this award is given to the Club member whom the elected officers of the Club select as the person who has done the most work for the Region during the current year. The award is in honor of Murrell E. Smith in recognition of his tireless efforts for the benefit of Chesapeake Region, AACA. The elected officers of the Club make the selection of the awardee at the September Board Meeting. The recipient may not be an elected officer, but may be an appointed officer. The recipient is eligible to receive the award on a one time basis only. The award is presented at the annual banquet and has the current recipient’s name engraved. At the next banquet, it is surrendered to the new awardee and the previous recipient is given a plaque in recognition of having received the award.
