HERSHEY Fall Meet 2005

(Click on image to view full size)

This was the 50th Anniversary of the Hershey Fall Meet and in keeping with the history of this event it rained a tropical rain on Friday and Saturday.  Many vendors packed up and left on Friday morning as did a number of spectators.  Surprisingly a hardy few armed with raincoats and umbrellas braved the rain to attend the car show on Saturday.

As best as I could determine from the Fall Meet Program Guide twenty-seven Chesapeake Region members registered for the car show and seven showed up, a twenty-six percent attendance.  From the empty spaces on the show field that seemed to hold for the entire event.

Special honors go to Evelyn and Pat Wenderoth who drove their 1928 Studebaker from Reisterstown to Hershey on Saturday morning in the downpour!  Wenderoth28Studebaker.JPG (23144 bytes)  That's dedication!  Other vehicles that I located were Glen Hartong's 1952 Hudson in Class 26D Hartong52Hudson.JPG (24110 bytes), Roy Kidwell's 1965 Plymouth in Class 27F(Repeat Preservation) Kidewell65Plymouth.JPG (24865 bytes), John Gambo's 1969 Lincoln in Class 27H(3rd Junior) Gambo69Lincoln.JPG (22777 bytes), Rick Hollar's 1972 Buick Hollar72Buick.JPG (20582 bytes), Ed McDaniel's 1958 Chevrolet truck McDaniel58Chevrolet.JPG (20211 bytes) and Al & Mildred Lawson's 1963 Thunderbird Lawson63Thunderbird.JPG (22525 bytes) in the Driver Participation Class.

Congratulations to Mark Brady of Perry Hall who received a 1st Junior award in Class 05H for his 1970 Triumph.  If I missed your vehicle my apologies.  I was hungry and wet and ready for lunch and the ride home.  And still it rained!
