32nd Annual CRAACA Flea Market

Saturday March 12, 2005

by Tom Young & Mary Allen

Punxsutawney Phil's prediction of six more weeks of winter has been accurate this year. But the weather for our 32nd Annual Antique Auto Parts Flea Market at the Howard County Fairgrounds on March 12th was just fine, although a bit on the cool side. Because the forecast snow showers didn't happen, we had more than the usual number of unregistered vendors show up early Saturday morning

For spectators, the opportunity to get out of the house to a car event and maybe find those items needed to finish this winter's projects keeps the Flea Market going, year after year. Of course, many folks come out just to talk about the hobby with like-minded people. All in all, this was a successful Flea Market.

CRAACA's Flea Market has the biggest volunteer participation each year. We would like to recognize everyone who helped make this event successful.

A BIG THANK YOU to: the Friday setup crew of Harry Wilhelm, John Horn, Art Petrucci, Jim Synodinos, Mary Allen, Ed Allen, Dan Materazzi, Larry Butcher, Paul Habicht and Dick Bandel; with the addition of field layout expert Dick Alexander, Sr. (helped by Butch Cornes, Dave Sturges, and Matt Alexander, Jr.); and John Shenton, who helped haul Club property; the parking crew of Harry Wilhelm, Franklin Gage, and Dan Banks; and our Saturday food crew headed by Mary Allen, plus Vicky Wilmer, Chris and John Young, Phyllis Cherry, Ginny Habicht, Terry Materazzi, Dick Bandel, and Bob Johannessen. And special thanks to members who made donations to the food operation.
