CHICK SMITH MEMORIAL AWARD
Initiated in 1964, this was the only award granted by Chesapeake Region for many years. The award consists of a trophy that was donated to the Club by the family of Charles E. "Chick" Smith, who was an early member of Chesapeake Region, AACA. The annual winner of this award is determined by a vote of the members. On the annual ballot for Club officers, the members are asked to vote for the person they believe has done the most for the Club during the current year. A person may receive this award on numerous occasions and may also receive other Club awards during the same year. At the annual banquet, the trophy is presented to the current winner and that person’s name is engraved on the trophy. At the following year’s banquet, the trophy passes to the winner at that time, and the past year’s winner is given a plaque in recognition of having received the award.
