Donald Jeter, Jr.
Donald
Jeter, Graysonville, Maryland, passed
away unexpectedly on December 25, 2007 at the age of 74.
He
retired in 1995 after 30 years of service with McCormick and Company, Inc., the
Baltimore based international producer of seasonings, flavorings, and specialty
foods. He had been Corporate Vice
President of Manufacturing since 1981. Previously,
he held a series of manufacturing responsibilities beginning in 1964 when he
joined the former Schilling Division of McCormick in San Francisco, California,
as plant engineer. A native of
Chicago, he graduated in 1956 from Northwestern University with B.S. degrees in
Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. From
1956 to 1959 he was a Navy Lieutenant.
A
Chesapeake Region member since 1976, he had a 1931 Ford Model A coupe and a 1956
Ford Thunderbird, both restored and excellent.
His children remember him as a
wonderful father who taught them to appreciate the world and the opportunities
that their lives provide. He spent a lot of their childhood rebuilding the
Model A and he enjoyed driving both of his old cars.
Donald
Jeter is survived by his children: Susan Jeter-Grammer, James Jeter and David
Jeter; grandchildren: Robbie Grammer, Melanie Jeter, Lauren Ford and Kevin Ford. He was the husband of the late Nancy J. (nee Conrad) Jeter.
Philip
W. Chase, Jr.
Philip
Chase, Lutherville, MD, passed away on December 15, 2007.
A Chesapeake Region member since 1976, he had a 1930 Buick.
Philip Chase
is survived by his sons Philip W. Chase, III, and Robert C. Chase and his wife
Christine; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the husband of the late Nancy Ensor Chase.
