H. Donald Jeter, Jr.

Donald Jeter, Graysonville, Maryland,  passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2007 at the age of 74.

He retired in 1995 after 30 years of service with McCormick and Company, Inc., the Baltimore based international producer of seasonings, flavorings, and specialty foods.  He had been Corporate Vice President of Manufacturing since 1981.  Previously, he held a series of manufacturing responsibilities beginning in 1964 when he joined the former Schilling Division of McCormick in San Francisco, California, as plant engineer.  A native of Chicago, he graduated in 1956 from Northwestern University with B.S. degrees in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering.  From 1956 to 1959 he was a Navy Lieutenant.

A Chesapeake Region member since 1976, he had a 1931 Ford Model A coupe and a 1956 Ford Thunderbird, both restored and excellent.  His children remember him as a wonderful father who taught them to appreciate the world and the opportunities that their lives provide.  He spent a lot of their childhood rebuilding the Model A and he enjoyed driving both of his old cars.
