Hosted by the Dixie Region
The AACA Dixie Region welcomes you to “Alabama the Beautiful” and
Birmingham “The Magic City”. Come and enjoy our hospitality, spring
weather and foliage. We have three interesting tour days near
Birmingham planned for your enjoyment on secondary roads. No interstate
driving will be necessary and each day’s drive is less than 90 miles.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TOUR:
Wed. April 15: The fun begins with a welcome reception.
Thurs. April 16: Visit Barber Motorsports Vintage Motorsports museum
(home of the largest motorcycle and Lotus car collections in the world)
We continue to the Bass Pro Shop (one of the newest and largest) and
the Birmingham Botanical Gardens (optional visit to Birmingham Zoo).
Fri. April 17: Visit Tannehill State Park and museum (this museum
explains the history of the Birmingham steel industry and craft cabins

exhibit for the Palace of Mines and Metallurgy at the 1904 St. Louis
World's Fair. He was (and still is) the world's largest cast metal
statue and the largest statue ever made in the U.S. His height was
originally planned for 50 feet, but when Birmingham learned that a pagan
Buddha in Tokyo stood 52 feet tall, they made their pagan Vulcan four
Sat. April 18: We will visit the private antique car museum of Ron and
Liz Moore (many Classics and coffee break), Old Car Heaven (mostly Mopar).
We will then travel to the very interesting Birmingham Civil Rights
