Petcock leak

Q -What is the best way to stop a leak at the petcock? The spark plugs are similarly defective.

A mixture of shellac and graphite to the consistency of paste is very good to stop such leaks. It is possible that the threads are crossed. If so, would suggest both parts be re-threaded.
